Nossa História

In Rio Negrinho, Santa Catarina, members of a family with experience in the furniture industry, decided to join their efforts to manage their own company.

Based on this purpose, on December 15, 1991 they founded Rückten Serraria.

In 1995, they acquired the machines from the company MCN Artefatos de Madeira, which had 32 employees and operated in a rented warehouse with an area of 600 m².

From the initial production of wooden dining rooms for the domestic market, the new managers invested in the manufacture of furniture following the European market design trends. In 1997, the company also started to supply the foreign European and American markets.

In 2000, the company moved to its new 2,400 m² facility. The directors then decided to change the company's name to Móveis Caftor Ltda.

Móveis Caftor grew with time. Currently, due to investments in technology and training of its team, the production capacity is approximately 8 containers of 40 ′ per month, in addition to serving the domestic market.

We rely on our own reforestation which exceeds 700,000 trees of differeing ages, as well as a shed for the sawmill and drying kilns with 1300 m². The 5700m² industrial park and headquarters is located in Rio Negrinho.

 

Currently, the company has approximately 150 direct employees.

The name Caftor was inspired by a biblical passage from the New Testament . Caftor is an ancient island of Crete, whose inhabitants - the caftorins - were also known as "people of the sea". This was a fair, well-organized and combative people, who during their existence, although being through many difficulties, continued to fight united.
